Kicking off the Easter weekend...

Prayer Breakfast at Second Baptist Church

Yesterday morning, we both had the day off for Good Friday so we had a full day planned. At 7:00 a.m., we went to Second Baptist Church for the annual Easter Prayer Breaksfast. There was a great turnout and we had singing, a wonderful guest speaker, a great breakfast and a lot of fun. I helped out in the kitchen with a fun group of ladies. Here's one of them preparing one of my favorites for b-fast...grits! I had some later with sausage. Yum!

After that, we took a coworker into San Antonio for lunch at our favorite Vietnamese restaurant and so that we could get to know him. He was visiting from Australia on a work exchange program. It was really fun to learn more about him and Australia. After lunch, we headed up north of Austin to see family in Burnet. We visited for a while and still got back in time to catch the last quarter of a Spurs game. Full day, full of fun. Hope you are all enjoying the weekend as well. Today was work in the garden day so I'll post something about it tomorrow!

YUCK, GRITS! hehe... the rest of my family would love some, but i never acquired a taste for that... it's much too gritty. It sounds like you had a really full, fun day!

Love the grits for breakfast, or supper for that matter with a little gravy. But what I really like best for lunch is a well made Pho, dac biet (yep, the special with the works - tai, nam, gan etc.) I could enjoy it nearly every day.
A fine job you're doing with your city blog, Thien. Thanks for stopping by with your comments. All the best.

Full day indeed! I've a daughter living down your way in Copperas Cove, and I've covered the miles you did that day. Grits for breakfast must have been a big help -:)

Thanks for your comments and visits to my blog, Thièn. Happy gardening, too. ~Chuck
