Squirreling around

Squirrely squirrels

Last week was very cold, rainy or overcast...dark. This weekend? Beautiful. This morning we woke to bright blue, clear skies and we're all taking advantage of the sun. Spotted these two little squirrels coming out together for breakfast. We have dozens and dozens of squirrels around here. Sometimes they are cute and sometimes I find them pesky b/c they take over things, knocking over our insulators, tearing around the yard, hissing at me and sometimes Smokey. They don't always like to share the yard. :)

I want to thank
J.C. of Subang Jaya, Jim of Terrell and Southern Heart of Memphis for honoring me with a You Make My Day Award! It is such a great surprise and adds to my happiness about continuing to keep up with the blog again. :)

The award rules say: "Give the award to 10 people whose blogs bring you happiness and inspiration and make you feel happy about blogland. Let them know by posting a comment on their blog so they can pass it on. Beware you may get the award several times."

I have learned so much about blogging, photography and the kindness and sensitivity that still exists in people and this makes me very happy. Through the daily photo blogs, I not only get to revisit places I have been but also places I have yet to see and know. I also make new friends along the way. My ten picks follows, though many other destinations also come to mind!

Please visit them and see for yourself how beautiful their photos and writings are -- I think you will enjoy the daily photo community.

  1. Looks like those squirrels have plenty to eat. We have so many squirrels the dogs dont even try to chase them anymore.

  3. That is the cutest squirrel I've ever seen! I've seen silver, brown and red ones. Some with really long tails, but none as cute as yours.

Thank you so much for the award! I shall pass on the torch.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and your kind comments. Drop by again!

  5. Thien, thank you for the award - I'm so flattered! I will be back to blogging - right now I am preparing for a real live show of my work and the few moments I have available to devote to Sharon DP are focused on printing and framing my pictures right now (and selecting only 25 out of the 600 I've posted so far!) I will certainly pass on the award!

  10. Hi Thiên,
You're vert lucky to get such a nice weather! It's freezin here!
Like you, I have a mix feeling with squirrels. You're right they can take over things and do a huge damage even though they look cute and funny.

  11. It is beautiful spectacle you see squirrels going up and going down in the trees.
It is in a permanent fight of survival.
    They permanently search for food.
In my country they do not exist in in the cities, only in the forests.

  14. Hey T. I've tried to capture photos of squirrels but so far not so good. Funnily enough I don't think I see too many at home, I see more of them in the city, especially in the trees around the Southwest School of Art and Craft. It's a coincidence that you get this award when you do. Just the other day I was thinking what a difference you and your family have made to my life. :D

  15. Shorty, you nearly made my cry. Thank you dear friend of mine. Don't you just love this community we are all a part of...it really has made me feel so good about people. It's hard sometimes when often you just hear the bad news and see the bad ways people can be. These blog connections are a good antidote to that.
