Sky Watch over Hay Field
This is my Sky Watch photo for Friday. Check out other cool skies at Wiggers World.
This is the same field I posted about on May 5. It's right out front as we enter and exit CMC Steel Texas where I work. Time to store or sell the hay I guess since many of the fields look this way. Mark and I miss seeing the fields of cotton. I wonder when that crop will be rotated into the fields. It's got it's own beauty as well.
It's so good to be home. I spent most of today catching up on sleep and haven't even unpacked yet so that means I certainly haven't cruised around town to see what's new while I've been away. It's a small town but you never know. While we were away in FL, our area (Seguin plus some of the close by little communities) got some more bad press but I won't go into it all here.

This time I got here first and with no problems on your link!
Fantastic view with vivid colours.
I loved it.
The field and sky are so beautiful! I forgot about how hay is rolled up, though rice stalks are stacked up in interesting mounds while the rice dries.
I used to live in Arizona and always loved to see the huge, truck sized bricks of cotton in the fields.
Great shot. Congratulations. Beautiful colors and subject.
This is a lovely photo of work well done on a beautiful day.
Is CMC the same company that used to be SMI? Or is it a different company? Just curious.
Thank you everyone.
Alan, it was SMI but was purchased by CMC and then recently we started branding under the CMC name. We're now global with US locations falling under CMC Americas and then we also have CMC International.
I love your picture.
oh! I like views like this, for me this is a perfect capture... I can imagine the smell in the air.. beautiful... :O)
Beautiful shot!
Lovely colours.
Harmonious.
What a great scene! a simple rural life with clear blue sky! Happy weekend!
beautiful photo! i love how peaceful the scene looks....
The sky has the grey cast to it that "Louis" remembers from growing up in Texas. "Louis" is (ahem) old enough to remember when the farmers first began rolling the hay instead of gathering it into upright bundles and tying the bundles. "Louis" helped do that a few times in his youth. Hot, hard, dirty work. The machine-made rolls are far preferable!
Beautiful...love the golden hay!
I remember that as well, Louis. In fact, round bales still seem kind of odd and foreign to me.
I love to see hay fields and this is a really beauiful shot of one!
Thanks for all your visits to my blog.
Lovely ond the blue sky and brown/yellow field is so beautiful:)
Petunia's SWF
I still see the blocks of hay occassionally but mostly it's these huge rounds now. Thank you every for the comments.
Very nice picture!
Very lovely. I saw these big bundles of hay when I visited Australia.
Nice shot! Pretty sky, and I can almost smell the hay!
It is a BEAUTIFUL shot. How come I never find those?? =0)
Love checking out pics here in our home town. Occasionally I see things I recognize or people I know. =0)
