Police Headquarters

picture 319

This is our new police headquarters. Very nice upgrade from what they had to work with up to now. For some reason, I really like the look of the place at night. I like the lighting and the way they did the name. Very cool.

Thanks Reflex. And Kris, for us it is VERY contemporary. I wish we had more buildings go modern or at least be renovated to their old glory. Not stuck in between. ;)

*Hehe* it looks better than San Antonio's police headquaters now. Is this the same building that had problems with leaks/mold or something like that? I think I remember hearing about it a while ago. If so they sure put this baby up quick.

I can almost see the superhero, The Shadow, going in or out of this building. Sleek and new.

Do you have a pic of the old jail-house? Is it still up? My Dad use to tell me stories about spending the night in jail when he was young. Funny, my dad use to know the cops. Hey, what about a pic of that old "Seguin Police" truck they use to have. It was tan and white with a cherry light on top.

I like the way the modern concrete-walled building pays homage to the era after the Civil War when Seguin was called "The Mother of Concrete Cities".

Only about 20 of those original "limecrete" buildings survive, including Sebastopol and the older part of the Magnolia Hotel.

But the architects of the City Hall and the Court House used white limestone to recall the look of the whitewashed concrete, and the architect of this fine building has done as much.
