Smokey Joe Williams

Doesn't he cut a fine figure? This photo is not mine but I have developed quite a fondness for it after looking at it so much over the years since Mark started researching him. Smokey Joe was born and raised in little old Seguin. He became one of the greatest pitchers in baseball. He only got to play in the Negro Leagues because baseball was not integrated. Smokey Joe was born in 1886 in Seguin and died 1951 in New York. We went to Cooperstown for his induction in 1999.
