Prepping Dessert

Making our first pecan pie

Tonight we are baking our first pecan pie together. It's fun! And it smells delicious; I can't wait to try it tomorrow. I'm sure there are many ovens heating up this week as we all prepare for the big feast tomorrow. I hope you all have a wonderful day filled with family and friends time, good eats, fun football and great weather (whether that be snow, ice, hot, humid....whatever!). And a nice nap. At least that's my plan. :)

I smiled the biggest when I read "and a nice nap"! Amen sista!!! Amen!

I'm sure by tomorrow evening, I'll be crashing when my guests leave.

Happy Thanksgiving, Thien!

Great post for the day! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. We began our day by helping deliver 15,000 Thanksgiving dinners to needy families. Yup! That's correct...15,000 delivered by 5,000cars with 3 dinners in each driven by volunteers. (My husband and I were one of the caravan). Organized beautifully. More tomorrow on my blog! Come visit to see the operation.

This is a favorite around here. I was fortunate enough to live in Hawaii for about 4 years. While there we learned to add Kiluha to the pecan pie. You should try it some time. Just get one of those small bottles and dump it in. Or, get a big bottle, dump in about 4 oz. then drink the rest ;)
