*hehehe* Name Schmame. I like Horse Thingy—although if I recall correctly I think they were called hitching posts. Just to make sure I googled it and this is what I found "a fixed post with a ring to which a horse can be hitched to prevent it from straying" I'm wondering if that's where the word hitched came from in regards to getting married. :D I'm also wondering if the post could stand up to a horse being hitched to it now.
Oh, yeah, the bridle would break before this hitching post would budge. Looks like its set in cement. It also looks like a replica, but nothing wrong with that. It's a nice touch.
In Texas it may have had recent use.
You're right about that Denton. I know with the recent hikes in gas prices I saw a piece on the news about this hair dresser I think somewhere in Texas that had started riding his horse to work. I'll have to look to see if I can find a link to the story.
